World Cup tourists continue to find new things to be surprised by during their visits to North America this summer.

The kindness of the American people has been mentioned as a positive by many, while the size of the stadiums in the USA has also been a talking point.

Now, the watermelons at a H-E-B store in Texas have left England fan Oliver Henry ‘blown away’ due to their size.

World Cup tourist blown away by size of watermelons in USA

Henry has been travelling around the USA this summer after flying out to watch the Three Lions at the World Cup.

His journey has taken him to some interesting places, including the White House and to an event where he was able to take a photo with President Donald Trump.

Now, the online influencer has admitted he was ‘blown away’ by the size of the watermelons.

Taking to his X/Twitter account, the World Cup tourist stated: “Ok HEB was good. Shout out to whoever said to go here, they have a Texan BBQ place inside.

“And look at the size of the watermelons. I think I have big hands but was blown away by the size of it.”

As mentioned, Henry is from England, where the average watermelons are thought to weigh between 4.5lbs and 6.5lbs and are somewhere around 20cm to 30cm in length.

That is nearly half the size of the average watermelon in the US, which are estimated to weigh between 15lbs and 20lbs and are about 25cm to 30cm in length.

So, it turns out everything may well indeed be bigger in America.
