Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are determined to add more players, with Pedro Caixinha plotting an overhaul this summer.
Alan Stubbs’ quotes when he signed Will Vaulks for Rotherham United last summer, prove he could be the perfect addition for Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers side.
Vaulks is reportedly on Rangers’ transfer wishlist (Daily Mail), as Caixinha looks to strengthen the Ibrox side’s squad over the coming months.
And the 23-year-old appears to fit in well with Caixinha’s plans for Rangers.
The Portuguese boss has persistently spoken about his desire to see his side play with more aggression, ever since arriving at Ibrox.
And Stubbs’ comments about Vaulks prove that the midfielder could fit in well in a team which want to press their opposition.
“He’s someone I came across in Scotland obviously from my time at Hibs,” Stubbs said to Rotherham’s official website, after signing the 23-year-old.
“He’s a young player and he’s combative. He has improved over the last couple of seasons since I’ve been in Scotland and he’ll give us a little bit of steel as he’s good at winning the ball back.
“He’s got a goal in him from midfield and the thing about him is that he’s still got untapped potential, and I think he is more than capable of making the step up to the Championship.
“For me, he was Falkirk’s main player. The thing that impressed me was that he performed in the bigger games.”
Vaulks has gone on to have a credible season at Rotherham, despite the Millers’ struggles in the Championship this season.
Vaulks could be one of a number of additions which Rangers make this summer, as Caixinha is planning to have a major overhaul of his current first-team squad at Ibrox.
Rangers are expected to make a huge amount of changes in the summer, as they look to close the gap on Celtic.
