The Swansea forward should be one of the most sought after strikers around, after emulating Luis Suarez’s transition from Netherlands to the Premier League.

Recent reports have seen Swansea City Wilfried Bony striker linked to an exit from the club, with Everton chief among those interested according to the Express.

After netting 16 goals over the course of the season, Bony has hinted at an interest in playing for a club closer to the summit of the Premier League, with the Swans flirting with relegation for most of the season, telling Sky Sports: “I want to play for a bigger club like all young players dream so it’s important to keep playing well.

And Everton, who may be after the powerful forward to replace Romelu Lukaku should they fail to keep hold of the Belgian, shouldn’t be the only team after Bony, after a season where he is carried over his phenomenal scoring record from the Eredivisie, just like a certain Uruguayan did before him.

The table above shows that Bony is the joint highest goalscorer in the division when it comes to scoring with his head. With 217 aerial duals contested he has also has an impressive success rate of 78%, behind Christian Benteke, Olivier Giroud, and Edin Dzeko, all much taller men. It’s important that Bony is both contesting these crosses regularly, and converting them.

Bony is also effective with his general attacking play, offering up the third best attempts ratio in the league.

Tottenham, Arsenal, and Chelsea will all be looking for top class goalscoring centre forwards this summer, and in fact, have been before the season. When Swansea bought the Ivorian for £12 million in August there were plenty of other clubs rumoured to be interested in him, and the fact the Swans stepped in and signed him up should be applauded as they have gotten a top class striker that has scored plenty of goals for the side this year. They can either build the side around him or sell him for at least double what they paid whenever they’re ready.

With goals against Man United, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton, the striker has proved he can do it against the big boys. Bony’s ability in the air, his lethal approach in the box, and his strength in holding up the ball are all hugely valuable commodities for Premier League teams of any level, and the fact he has been able to be so dominant against so many of the league’s best sides should have gotten them interested in him.

Whether any of the aforementioned London clubs were one of those that decided against signing Bony, who knows, but now the former Vitesse man is a proven Premier League goalscorer there should be no shortage of interested parties.
