West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Sunderland defender Lamine Kone.

Sunderland's Lamine Kone scores their first goal

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, West Ham United are set to move for Sunderland defender Lamine Kone this summer.

West Ham believe that Kone would enhance the quality of their defensive options, with Slaven Bilic keen to strengthen his backline.

However, Kone’s attitude while playing for Sunderland should sound some alarm bells for West Ham.

Kone has been one of Sunderland biggest under-performers this season, with the Ivorian regularly accused of looking as if he doesn’t care by Black Cats fans.

West Ham have already had their problems with players who haven’t been fully committed this season, with the Dimitri Payet saga well publicised.

And while Kone arguably would be a better option than any of their current defenders, on footballing ability, there has to be question marks over his attitude.

The Hammers need players who are fully dedicated to helping them improve next term.

West Ham have disappointed with their performances this term, and will be under pressure to show some signs of progression next campaign.
