The Manchester United winger has been linked with West Ham United.
A recent report from the Daily Mail claimed West Ham United had been sounded out about a possible loan move for Manchester United winger Ashley Young, and assuming Dimitri Payet has played his last game for the Hammers, it could be a deal that suits all parties.
Manchester United clearly do not need Young these days, with the 31-year-old barely featuring under Jose Mourinho, while West Ham could do with additional creativity and goal-threat with their want-away Frenchman surely heading to pastures new in due course.
Then there is Young himself, who will be desperate to play week in, week out at this stage of his career.
He still has a few years left at the top if he can find the right club, and with his ability on either wing or as a makeshift full-back if required, Young could certainly do a job at the London Stadium.
His delivery from set-pieces should not be understated, especially if free-kick extraordinaire Payet needs replacing.
Young has the ability to deliver consistently dangerous balls into the box; something that West Ham striker Andy Carroll can thrive on.
With his contract expiring in the summer Young could prove his worth now before moving to the Hammers permanently for free in the summer, and given his Premier League experience and desire to make up for lost time he would be far less risky than many other players that move on this month.
