West Ham have lacked the presence of a quality attacking midfielder for some time, and have relied heavily on Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini to create opportunities in the attacking third off their own backs.
With that in mind, Ayoze Perez would provide far more ingenuity towards the Hammers attack, occupying defenders with his movement and using his technical ability to find both the current goal scorers in dangerous positions, while interchanging with both in dynamic counter-attacks – where the player has shone this term.
Newcastle are reportedly keen to hold onto their talisman amid rumours of a return to Spain, with the 24-year-old declaring his preference to stay in the Premier League this season, in quotes via Sun Sport.
