West Ham United are already under pressure and the club must put things right quickly or they could be in for a long season.
West Ham United’s Adrian, Dimitri Payet and team mates look dejected
Bilic’s side have endured a terrible start to the season losing three of their first four games after squandering a 2-0 lead in a 4-2 defeat to Watford last time out.
Even in their solitary victory – a 1-0 triumph over Bournemouth – the Hammers were unconvincing.
They have also been dumped out of Europe after an embarrassing 2-1 aggregate defeat to Romanian minnows Astra Giurgiu in the Europa League.
Injuries have hampered their preparations but after making 13 signings in the summer the club has more than enough options at its disposal.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic
With ill-feeling brewing between the club and fans on the terraces of the Hammers’ new 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium Bilic and his side are already under pressure.
The East Londoners have looked a shadow of the side which missed out on the Champions League places by just four points last season.
They are fortunate that their run of Premier League games over the next month and a half are all winnable.
Can Dimitri Payet stop West Ham’s bubble from bursting?
The Hammers travel to West Bromwich Albion this Saturday before entertaining Southampton.
They are at home again the following week when newly-promoted Middlesbrough come to Stratford which is followed by a trip to Crystal Palace after the October international break.
Sunderland are next up at home followed by a tough looking trip to Everton and a home game against Stoke City.
Getting wins on the board is imperative when you look at the four games Bilic’s side face consecutively in November and December.
Bilic must get his side to refocus
A daunting trip to White Hart Lane is followed by Manchester United at Old Trafford, Arsenal at home and Liverpool away.
In the last campaign those four matches would have held no fear for the Hammers, indeed they relished them.
But lacklustre defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City this season do not bode well.
And if West Ham do not get at least 12 points from their next six games – which will leave them with 15 points going into that tough run of games – then they could realistically reach mid-December facing a long and difficult season.
