West Ham United are ready to sell Chelsea target Andy Carroll if the buying club meets their £20m asking price for the striker, reports Sky Sports.

Interest in Carroll from Stamford Bridge has increased as the January transfer window has progressed and the Blues have made contact with their London rivals about signing the 29-year-old.

Antonio Conte wants competition for club record signing Alvaro Morata upfront and does not view current option Michy Batshuayi as the forward to do that.

Batshuayi has been linked with a move the opposite way to the Hammers, although Sevilla are confident that they will be the ones to land the Belgium international on loan.

Either way West Ham are now willing to let Carroll leave and if they receive £20m for the Englishman then the statistics suggest the East Londoners will have struck a very good deal.

That is because the attacker will turn 30 next birthday and since joining the club back in the summer of 2012 (initially on loan from Liverpool before making it permanent a year later) he has scored 32 goals in 128 matches at an average of one every four games. Hardly a groundbreaking record.

Not only that but injuries have plagued Carroll’s time at the London Stadium and Upton Park before that, with the England international averaging just 23 appearances a season as a result.
