If Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge is not for sale then could West Ham renew interest in Newcastle target and Leicester striker Islam Slimani?
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp (L) shakes hands with Daniel Sturridge (R) at the end of the UEFA Champions League Group E football match against Spartak Moscow.
West Ham United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Daniel Sturridge with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp not willing to let the striker leave, according to the Daily Mail.
The same newspaper reported last month that the Hammers were keeping a close eye on Sturridge as David Moyes looked to improve his attacking options in the January transfer window.

However, as Klopp is willing to let Danny Ings leave on loan he does not want to lose another forward, which in turn could be bad news for Newcastle United.
This is because the Leicester Mercury reports that the Magpies are the favourites to sign out of favour Leicester City attacker Islam Slimani.
Leicester City’s Islam Slimani (L) celebrates with teammates after scoring their second goal during the English League Cup fourth round football match against Leeds United.
Yet if West Ham can no longer get Sturridge, will they perhaps renew the interest they showed in Slimani themselves earlier in 2017 – as reported by talkSPORT at the time?
Newcastle would not want to get into a battle over the 29-year-old’s signature, but unfortunately for them a number of clubs are competing for a relatively small pool of available and experienced Premier League strikers.
