West Bromwich Albion are in need of more firepower up front, especially with Saido Berahino’s likely departure.
The Baggies have probably exceeded expectations so far this season, and sit comfortably in ninth position in the Premier League table after two wins and three draws from their opening seven games.
West Brom have been typically tight and well-organised – a common trait of a team under the authority of Tony Pulis, although they have still struggled to create in forward areas, and lack a striker who could score them 15-20 goals per season.
Middlesbrough’s Jordan Rhodes could be exactly the man to help Pulis’ men become more clinical, and in doing so, win more games throughout the course of the season.

Only three teams drew more games than the Midlands outfit last term, and they have shared the spoils on more occasions than any other side this season.
Rhodes only moved to the Riverside in February of this year, for a fee believed to be in the region of £9 million, but has since gone on to make only 14 league starts for the Teessiders.
The 26-year-old Scotland international has a track record that can be matched by few in the English game, however, and could prove to be a fantastic addition to the Baggies’ squad.

Since the summer of 2009, Rhodes has scored 178 goals in 337 games for Huddersfield Town, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough respectively.
Having made just one start for his club this term, however, it is debatable whether or not he is considered to be an integral part of Aitor Karanka’s squad, and if his situation does not change by January, he will surely look for a move in order to gain more regular first-team football.
With Saido Berahino looking ever more likely to leave the Hawthorns, West Brom’s need for another striker could become a matter of necessity, whether that be in January or next summer.
West Brom should take advantage of Rhodes’ lack of game-time at Boro, and make a move for the prolific hitman, if they want to make any progress on their 14th place finish last season.
