The Liverpool teenager would be the ideal short-term option for West Bromwich Albion as they bid to maintain their impressive progress.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander Arnold

As reported by the Express & Star, West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson sees his future as a centre-back rather than a right-back, and if Baggies boss Tony Pulis agrees he would be wise to make a significant loan move this summer.

Dawson has impressed out wide this season but, with Jonas Olsson leaving The Hawthorns and Gareth McAuley not getting any younger, it would be no surprise if the 26-year-old was used in his preferred position more regularly in 2018 and beyond.

If that is the case, West Brom will need to sign a new right-back and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold would be the ideal addition.

The 18-year-old is highly rated at Anfield and he was recently named as the 13th best teenager in English football in HITC’s Top 50, and while there is no way Liverpool will sanction a permanent deal, a loan move would be ideal for all concerned.

Alexander-Arnold is ready for regular senior football and given the presence of Nathaniel Clyne at Liverpool he will struggle to be anything more than a bit-part player next season.

Not so at West Brom, where he could excel, allowing Dawson to move into the centre in the process.

The teenager already has nine appearances for Liverpool under his belt and he would thrive at the Baggies.

If Pulis wants a quality new right-back but does not want to break the bank, Alexander-Arnold is the perfect solution.
