Why West Brom fans should want more from this season

As West Bromwich Albion continue to impress this season, fans of the club should be wanting even more from their side.

At the start of the season all anybody could talk about was the uncertainty surrounding Tony Pulis. The Welshman fluctuated between staying and going an endless amount of times, until finally settling on remaining at The Hawthorns. It’s a good job he did too, as the former Stoke boss has done a solid job by lifting the Baggies into the top eight of the Premier League table.

A great deal of West Brom fans seem satisfied with the position and whilst it’s understandable, they need to be looking up the league as opposed to over their shoulder. The club have been in the top flight for seven years now and it’s at that point you need to start thinking about longevity.

There’s no doubt that West Brom are an established Premier League side at this point, but at what point does that stop being enough? At Stoke, Pulis had a similar issue in which it seemed as if he was more content on simply surviving than thriving.

It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it all comes down to what the Baggies fans want. History suggests Midlands fans can be quite fickle, so you would think they can ride on this momentum for a few years yet. However, the majority of the sides around them like Stoke, Southampton and Everton have all experienced some form of European football over the last few years. And West Brom are certainly in the league position to strive for that midway through the 2016/17 campaign.

In terms of risking it all by pushing for more, it all comes down to how willing Pulis is to change things up at The Hawthorns.
