The Manchester United attacker has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a recent report from the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to monitor the situation of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, in the hope of making a move if the Frenchman leaves Old Trafford.
However, the truth of the matter is that a Spurs move for Martial is nothing more than a pipe dream.
That is not a judgement on Tottenham rather an acknowledgement of Martial’s quality and long-term importance at Old Trafford.
It is easy to look at Jose Mourinho’s treatment of the French international and come to the conclusion that he is on borrowed time at United; but that could not be further from the truth.
Martial is still only 21 and has gone from being the surprise package to a player opponents are desperate to keep quiet.
He is also not having the terrible campaign the gossip columns would have us believe, with seven goals and six assists hardly the return of a young player destined for the exit.
He has gone from being the go-to guy for inspiration under Louis van Gaal to a player who has to get used to playing more of a squad role, with the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan forcing him to up his game to get into the starting XI.
That is no bad thing for a youngster who possesses talent in abundance but who could have easily stagnated if van Gaal had remained and played him week in, week out with no competition for a starting berth.

Tottenham would love a player like Martial, and it is for that very reason that he will not be heading to White Hart Lane, or anywhere else for that matter.
Martial is the real deal; a player who would instantly transform Tottenham’s attacking options and who will, in time, become a superstar.
Patience is a virtue too rare in the game, but Mourinho will know that whatever the newspapers say, he is only pushing Martial to prove him wrong just as he did with Mkhitaryan before him.
Tottenham may be monitoring the situation, but unfortunately for their chairman Daniel Levy, this is one transfer tussle he will not even get the opportunity to start.
