Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Ralf Rangnick as their new manager, according to The Telegraph.
Spurs have missed out on Julian Nagelsmann as he makes his move to Bayern Munich instead, and are now looking towards other managers.
Rangnick is believed to be on Tottenham’s list, which is very interesting given that Daniel Levy look at him before appointing Andre Villas-Boas in 2012.
The German has been quite the enigma in terms of coaching, as his only managerial roles since guiding Schalke into the 2011 Champions League semi-finals have been as an interim boss for RB Leipzig.
Rangnick has instead focused on a key role with Red Bull’s footballing setup, helping Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg and New York Red Bulls.
A return to management with Spurs could appeal, even though the idea of him working with Levy is one that seems hard to imagine.
Rangnick did have a chance to return to management earlier this season though, as Chelsea wanted him to take charge following Frank Lampard’s exit.

Rangnick told The Times that he rejected Chelsea because he didn’t want to be a ‘lame duck’ by taking the job for a matter of months before moving on in the summer.
“I said, ‘I would love to come and work with you, but I cannot do it for four months. I am not an interim coach.’ To the media and players you would be the ‘four-month manager’, a lame duck, from day one,” Rangnick said.
Tottenham would be able to offer him greater stability than that, and if Spurs can offer an exciting long-term project to him, they may just have more luck than Chelsea had earlier this year.
