Tottenham have been long-term admirers of Wilfried Zaha, as reported by The Guardian, but they are yet to really pursue the winger.
Spurs’ have kept a tentative interest in Zaha, but Palace have always demanded a huge fee for the wide-man.
The Eagles have, understandably, been keen to keep hold of their most dangerous attacking outlet – and have effectively priced many suitors out of the market.
With Premier League football, Palace have been in a position of power and have had no pressure to sell.
But Palace are now locked in a relegation battle, and their chances of staying up look bleak.
Roy Hodgson’s side are yet to even score a goal this term, and sit rooted to the bottom of the table, with no points.
While Palace still have time to turn their season around, they have a great deal of work to do, and Levy is almost certainly keeping tabs on their progress with interest.
If Palace do get relegated, Zaha is almost definite to move on – and Spurs may well be at the front of the queue to profit.
Tottenham are likely to feel they could get Zaha at a cheaper price, should Palace slip into the Championship.
And with Levy famed for his ability to bag a bargain, he may just be feeling justified over not making a big-money offer for Zaha last summer.
