Tottenham Hotspur fans want signings but Mauricio Pochettino is not a fan of risky winter business.

Judging by their recent Premier League form, Tottenham Hotspur could do with a boost in January.
Spurs have failed to win three of their last four top-flight matches, including two against top-six rivals, and have fallen 13 points behind leaders Manchester City in the table.
The bench for Saturday’s 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion proved that Mauricio Pochettino needs greater attacking depth and a maverick player to help break teams down.

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha and Everton midfielder Ross Barkley would add creativity and unpredictability, and are long-term Spurs targets, as The Independent reports.
However, history suggests that Tottenham supporters should brace themselves for a quiet transfer window as Pochettino very rarely enters the market in the New Year.
The Argentine has only signed two players in his five January windows since arriving in the Premier League, of whom Dele Alli returned on loan to Milton Keynes Dons in 2015.
Vegard Forren of Norway (left) never played for Southampton after joining from Molde
The failings of his other January recruit – Vegard Forren – who joined Southampton on the same day as Pochettino but never played for the Saints – might explain this inactivity.
Pochettino is very particular when it comes to signing players, especially when big money is involved, so it would be surprising for him to enter the crazy January market this year.
