A number of Tottenham fans were recently left disappointed after hearing that Julian Nagelsmann is no longer under consideration by Daniel Levy.
It was The Athletic who revealed that Spurs had decided not to push the German through to their final interview stage, despite initially including him on their shortlist of options to replace Antonio Conte.
Now – however – Julian Nagelsmann could come back into the picture for Tottenham.
What’s the story?
Well – according to the Telegraph – Tottenham’s verdict on Nagelsmann could change depending on who arrives as a replacement for Fabio Paratici in the Director of Football role.
Matt Law explains how Spurs could resurrect their initial interest in the 35-year-old if a new Sporting Director arrives and suggests making another move for the Landsberg am Lech-born tactician.

Fortunately for Tottenham, no other side has made concrete progress in a move to appoint Nagelsmann while they have pondered over who should replace Conte.
Chelsea held talks with the German – according to Sky Sports – but he is no longer an option with Mauricio Pochettino now set to take over at Stamford Bridge.
Update on Nagelsmann should worry Tottenham fans
In our view, the Telegraph’s update on Nagelsmann does not reflect well on Spurs.
It suggests those in the boardroom at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have no idea what they are doing unless a Director of Football calls the shots.
Surely, if Levy and his colleagues knew which approach they wanted to take after firing Conte, their thoughts on Nagelsmann wouldn’t be dictated by a Sporting Director.
To make matters worse, Spurs haven’t even actually appointed a new Director of Football yet, which suggests the managerial hunt will be delayed until that vacancy is filled.
Lee Dykes of Brentford and Tim Steidten – who last worked at Bayer Leverkusen – are among the options to replace Paratici, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Tottenham, as a lot needs to be sorted in the coming weeks.
