Tiger Woods didn’t enter a single tournament in 2025, and at this point, it’s fair to wonder if he’ll ever get that record-breaking 83rd PGA Tour win.
Woods is still tied with Sam Snead for the most wins in PGA Tour history, a mark he reached with his victory at the ZOZO Championship back in 2019.
The 2025 season didn’t offer much hope either. Tiger had surgery on his Achilles before the Masters and later had a disc replacement procedure in October.
Now that he’s turned 50, Woods is eligible for the PGA Tour Champions. But given what we know about him, it’s hard to see him settling for just playing on the senior tour.
Evaluating Tiger Woods’ chances of playing at The Masters in 2026

Woods played just five events in 2024. He pulled out of the Genesis Invitational during the second round, then went on to play all four majors.
His only made cut came at The Masters. And speaking on the Golf Channel Podcast, Todd Lewis suggested that the noises are positive when it comes to the chances of Woods being in the field at the first major of the year in 2026.
“I think he’ll try and push himself to play at Augusta National for The Masters. Maybe aggressive rehab for him to get there. I think there’s a decent chance he might show up there and play from what I’ve heard, that everything’s been going in a positive direction ever since that disc replacement surgery that he had,” he said.
“After that, I hope we get to see him play four times at least in 2026, which would include The Masters if he’s able to play that. And I hope that he does play a few events on the PGA Tour Champions, specifically senior major championships.
Lewis added: “I’m interested, to be honest with you, he could superbly elevate the PGA Tour Champions. But those guys, and you’ve been around them, when they make that transition from 49 to 50, they still think they can win on the PGA Tour and ego gets in the way to make that transition to the PGA Tour Champions.
“And when you’re talking about a guy who believes in himself like Tiger Woods has believed in himself in his career, I’m interested to see how that transition takes place or if that transition takes place.”
Looking back at Tiger Woods’ last trip to Augusta National
Two years ago, weather delays disrupted the opening round of The Masters, and Woods was among those affected.
He couldn’t finish his first round on Thursday, then played five holes on Friday before facing a quick turnaround into his second round. Just 45 minutes separated him from back-to-back starts.
Given the circumstances, it wasn’t shocking that he posted his worst major score that Saturday, ultimately finishing last among those who made the cut.
Despite that, Woods still managed to make history by making the cut for the 24th consecutive time at The Masters – a record streak in tournament history.
This April, he might have another opportunity to add to that remarkable run.
