Could DeAndre Yedlin have played his last match for Tottenham Hotspur?

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of players on their books for whom next season will be vital, but when it comes to DeAndre Yedlin, he may only have a few months to secure his long-term future at White Hart Lane.
When the USA international first signed for Tottenham it was off the back of a superb World Cup for his country. But two years on he has not developed as many expected, although a loan spell at Sunderland last season spoke of better things to come.
Aged 22 and with a contract until the summer of 2018, Yedlin could still break into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans but the next few months will be vital.

The Spurs boss has now seen what Yedlin can do in the Premier League after his spell at the Stadium of Light. However with Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier ahead of him in the pecking order at White Hart Lane it would take an almighty effort during pre-season to ensure he has not already played his last game for the North London club.
It does not help that Yedlin is currently on international duty at the Copa America, given him limited time to impress when he does finally head back to Tottenham.
Pochettino may have already made up his mind – and a return to Sunderland would no doubt be an option after his development under Sam Allardyce – but if there is still a chance for him at his parent club it is time he seized it and refused to let go.
