Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has told BT Sport that he was late a for meeting, and that was the reason why manager Erik ten Hag punished him against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Rashford, who was part of the England squad at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, did not start for Manchester United against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The forward came off the bench to score the winner in the second half.
The Red Devils won the match 1-0.
Marcus Rashford explains Erik ten Hag punishment
Rashford said: “I was a little bit late for a meeting. I slept in. I overslept. It can happen.”

Good management
In our view, Erik ten Hag was right to drop Marcus Rashford from the Manchester United starting lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Every player should be treated the same, and Ten Hag has made that clear to his squad today with the way he handled the forward.
Yes, Rashford has been superb for the Red Devils in recent weeks and is a key figure in the team, but he has to be punished and treated the same like other players if he breaks rules.
We also find it quite encouraging that Rashford accepted the punishment and did not kick up a fuss.
It shows the kind of person that the England international forward is.
