When it comes to the January transfer window and busy football period, Sunderland fans should not be worrying.
The never ending saga of Sunderland dramatically surviving when nobody expects it has gone on for years now. It’s at the point where people almost anticipate their survival weeks before the end of the season, and as the seasons go on the perception is that pressure continues to ramp up for the Black Cats.
But this year, they have no need to worry. Under David Moyes the club are starting to steady the ship following a poor start, with Jermain Defoe at the heart of the operation with a one in two goal ratio.

Whilst may people enjoying mocking Moyes due to his poor record over the last few years, they seem to forget his pedigree in the Premier League. Whilst the United job didn’t go exactly to plan, he was able to orchestrate success at Goodison Park for a long time in addition to doing what he could given the circumstances at Old Trafford.
Then you just need to look towards the rest of the sides down the bottom. With the likes of Swansea, Palace and Hull all in dire straights, the quality of the teams in the lower half of the table is as bad as it has been in years. This allows the Black Cats to utilise their experience in the relegation dog fight, and by the time March or April rolls around Moyes will be fully embedded within the club.

Holding your nerve is key in these type of situations, and nobody knows that more than Sunderland. As a fanbase and as a squad, they have come to expect the worst so anything more is considered a bonus.
The present threat of relegation intimidates alot of teams, but either way it isn’t the end of the world. Their neighbours Newcastle are currently thriving in the division, and whatever their fate may be preparation is not something that Moyes’ men are lacking.
