Southampton are reportedly set to make £10million in bonus payments if Liverpool win the Champions League.

This is because deals that saw five players move from the Saints to Anfield over the past four years include clauses concerning their success in Europe.

Virgil van Dijk was the latest to make the switch from St Mary’s to the Reds when the defender completed a £75m (BBC) transfer during the January transfer window.
This came after Sadio Mane moved in 2016, Nathaniel Clyne did in 2015 and Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren were both bought back in 2014.

It shouldn’t be too much of an issues for the Merseysiders, however, even though they will also have to pay their players £750,000 each should they triumph in Kiev on May 26.
That is because the club has already made £69m in TV money and prize funds for their run to their final and will receive a further £4m from sponsors should they win it.
