Dorus De Vries has come into Nottingham Forest’s starting line-up in recent weeks.
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dorus De Vries should be offered a new contract by the club, after his fine showings in recent weeks.
De Vries started this campaign as backup to usual first-choice Karl Darlow, but he has forced his way into the side and has established himself as Stuart Pearce’s number one now.
The Dutch stopper is currently out of contract in the summer (according to transfermarkt), meaning his future is uncertain, but De Vries has already proven that he deserves a new deal.

The experienced custodian has not been as involved as Darlow, on average, during the games he has played so far, but he has done everything with an unassuming ease.
De Vries has not failed to claim a cross, he holds onto he ball more the Darlow and he also is better with his feet than his counterpart.
It proves just how talented a player he is at this level, considering not many second-tier goalkeepers would not have been able to match Darlow’s stats.
De Vries may be ageing but, with the club operating under a transfer embargo, they are unlikely to be able to find a better goalkeeper elsewhere and should make sure they sort out their current number one’s future, rather than looking at other options.
