With Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United poised to make a run at the play-off spots, people need to realise how good this potential final would be.
Whilst some may point towards Reading as a more deserving option than the two Yorkshire giants, that is not the point here. For years on end Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United have suffered such cruel fate in comparison to their past successes.
Whether it was play-off final losses or dropping down to League One, it has been a great shame to see these once great clubs fall to such a level. But the thing is, if both were to make it to Wembley in May, the story would write itself in terms of just how intriguing it would be.

We have already touched on the history of both teams, but in an age of such uncertainty, having sides who were previously very much established in the Premier League would be great for the game. The fan bases alone are enough to lift this potential game to greatness, with a sell out at Wembley pretty much a guarantee.
Then there’s the men doing the actual work. From Garry Monk and Carlos Carvalhal to Fernando Forestieri and Chris Wood, Wednesday and Leeds have talismen from management all the way through to the starting XI.
Both teams may understandably be hoping to worm their way into the automatic promotion places, but if you want drama, emotion and quality football on display at Wembley in the Championship finale – this is the clash that would do it.
