Max Clark is nearing the Hull City exit door, despite two clubs having failed with offers for the left-back – according to the Hull Daily Mail. Clark has already been linked with moves to Nottingham Forest or Millwall – but should Sheffield Wednesday also feature among the interested parties?

And while the role was also filled by George Boyd and Adam Reach at times this season, neither are naturals there – with Reach looking far more comfortable at left-wing back. However, Clark’s versatility ensures he can flit between the two with minimal fuss – and even fill in on the wing if required.
2) At 22 and with close to 30 second-tier matches under his belt, Clark fits the profile being sought by Jos Luhukay in the summer transfer window. Speaking via the club’s official Facebook account last month, the Sheffield Wednesday boss revealed that he intends target a combination of younger players with development potential (check) and those with a prior knowledge of Championship football (check). Clark’s displays this campaign earned him an average rating of 7.03 – the sixth highest of any Hull player (WhoScored).
1) Though technically a free agent, Clark will not leave Hull for nothing as he has been offered a new contract – even if he chooses to turn it down. However, he could still be a bargain for someone, with Championship suitors said to be confident they can get him for around £400,000 – although it is claimed the Tigers still want seven figures (Hull Daily Mail). With an eye on Financial Fair Play this summer, the former price could appeal to Sheffield Wednesday.
