Alan Shearer says that West Ham United forward Andre Ayew should be banned retrospectively for diving against Leicester City during the 1-1 Premier League draw.
Referee Martin Atkinson did not give a penalty when Ayew was perceived to have simulated at the London Stadium and therefore no retrospective action can be taken under new rules introduced this season.

According to Shearer that is a flaw in the new system and the Ghana international should be banned for upcoming games with Everton and Manchester City – with two games the standard sanction.
“It’s a clear dive and the unfortunate thing is the panel can’t look at that,” the pundit said on Match Of The Day.
“If they want to stamp diving out then the panel should be able to go back. They should look at that and he should face a ban because that was a terrible dive.”

Niasse became the first player to be punished under the new rules, but Shearer also felt that Ayew’s dive was worse than that committed by the Toffees striker.
As it is the 27-year-old will be able to feature for West Ham at Goodison Park should manager David Moyes call upon him and if the attacker scores there could be some very disgruntled people on Merseyside.
