Leeds United target Ben Pringle has been the Championship’s best crosser this season.
Leeds United are interested in signing Ben Pringle from Rotherham United, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, and his arrival could solve one of the problems within the squad.
Pringle has impressed for the Millers this campaign, with his energy and drive in midfield a crucial component for them, but his crossing ability is what really sets him apart from the rest.
The floppy-haired midfielder has delivered the third most accurate crosses in the whole of the division and this quality could be crucial for Leeds.
The Whites, quite remarkably, still have not scored a headed goal all campaign, with their service to the strikers from wide areas poor.
| Headed goals | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|
| Leeds | 0 | 27 |
Leeds do not have an attacking force incapable aerially – with Mirko Antenucci and Steve Morison both fairly big presences – but they have still struggled to dominate defenders this campaign.
With better quality service they will be expecting to get on the scoresheet more regularly, though, and Pringle would be guaranteed to provide that.
| Position | Team | Accurate Cross | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| David Cotterill | MF | Birmingham | 76 | 26 | 2215 |
| Grant Leadbitter | MF | Middlesbrough | 68 | 26 | 2244 |
| Ben Pringle | MF | Rotherham | 63 | 23 | 1838 |
| Jordan Obita | MF | Reading | 57 | 27 | 2411 |
| Jacob Butterfield | MF | Huddersfield | 56 | 26 | 2330 |
His total of 63 accurate crosses these season is only beaten by David Cotterill and Grant Leadbitter, who both take set-pieces for their respective sides, and therefore he looks like the perfect addition for Leeds, if they are able to pull off the transfer.
