According to a report from the Sun, Manchester United are weighing up a £60 million swoop for Wolves midfield ace Ruben Neves in January, and the Black Country outfit might just be in a no-win situation.

The 21-year-old joined Wolves from Porto in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £15.8 million, and he has gone on to establish himself as a real fan favourite at Molineux.

Neves is a wonderful passer of the football, and possesses exceptional technical ability. He is at the heart of everything good that Wolves do, and without him, they are undoubtedly an inferior side.

The problem for Wolves, though, is if they receive an offer of around £60 million for the Portugal international, it would be next to impossible to refuse.

Replacing Neves, however, will be an extremely hard task, irrelevant of how much money Nuno Espirito Santo has at his disposal.

This all puts Wolves in somewhat of a no-win situation.

It might just be in their best interest to keep hold of their midfield talisman, and if they do just that, it would be a real statement of intent from Nuno’s side.
