After an initially poor start to the season, Preston North End could well sneak up on the top six come the end of the campaign.
Under Simon Grayson, Preston North End have turned themselves into a respectable Championship club once again. However, their expectations will be slightly higher than that as we go through the season with the play-offs not too far away.
In terms of the squad they have at their disposal, it really is going under the radar in terms of the quality they possess. The likes of Baptiste and Clarke at the back have been rock solid and have played an integral part in their early season success, meanwhile Aiden McGeady has been an absolute revelation in his new role at Deepdale.

It’s also saying something that Hugill is currently managing to keep Beckford out of the starting line-up, with a number of fringe players starting to prove their worth at the club. With nobody really expecting much from them this year and the pressure mostly being off their shoulders, they can go about their business without getting caught up in the media storm.
Then you have Simon Grayson. Alot of people are not fully aware of his stellar record in the promotion department, especially the play-offs. In terms of his playing career, Grayson experienced two play-off triumphs with Leicester City before transitioning that success into his management. At Huddersfield, Blackpool and Preston he has achieved promotion through Wembley success in addition to a runner-up medal with Leeds.
The credentials are there and so is the talent. Do not be surprised to see Preston in and around the top six come May.
