Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been tracking the midfielder since the start of the summer transfer window.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Real Betis are lining up a summer swoop for Rennes midfield ace Benjamin Bourigeaud, and that might just be good news for Tottenham’s hopes of signing Giovani Lo Celso.
Spurs have been tracking the Argentine all summer long, and had a £53 million bid rejected for the 23-year-old last month, according to a report from BBC Sport.
Tottenham are allegedly still tracking the midfielder, and were thought to be preparing a new offer for his services.
Sky Sports then reported yesterday, however, that talks between the two clubs have stalled, with Betis thought to be holding out for £70 million for the Argentine.
According to the Daily Star, Betis could already be planning for life without Lo Celso though, and are preparing a move for Rennes star Benjamin Bourigeaud.
And that might just offer Spurs renewed hope.

If Betis are successful in their swoop for the French midfielder, Tottenham will have a much better chance of signing the Argentine for less than his reported £70m asking price.
Lo Celso really is a top class performer, and if Spurs manage to bring him to north London, he could form a devastating central midfield partnership with Tanguy Ndombele.
Tottenham have already enjoyed a superb summer transfer window, and the signing of the Real Betis ace really would be the icing on the cake for them.
