Leeds have secured the loan signing of Matthew Pennington from Everton.
Leeds United have completed the loan signing of Matthew Pennington from Everton and the defender has flown out to Austria to meet up with his new teammates, reports Sky Sports.
It’s said that Pennington passed his medical at Elland Road and joined up with the squad as they continue their pre-season training camp.

The 22-year-old becomes head coach Thomas Christiansen’s ninth new signing since taking over from Garry Monk and will offer competition to Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper in central defence.
In fact, Pennington is exactly what the Whites need right now, especially after Swansea City decided to bring Kyle Bartley back to South Wales after a successful loan spell in Yorkshire in 2016/17.
Arguably, though, this latest addition from the Toffees could prove to be an upgrade on Bartley, with the Goodison Park academy graduate having impressed at every level he has played at so far.
In 2014/15, Pennington was named Coventry City’s young player of the year after an impressive loan stint with the Sky Blues, while a commanding debut for Everton in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth the following season earned him a man of the match award.
Injuries have blighted the centre-back’s playing time so far in his career, but with both Ronald Koeman and former manager Roberto Martinez having both shown faith in the youngster, he could really shine at Championship level.
