Benjamin Pavard has drawn attention to himself at the World Cup, and Tottenham Hotspur should really be getting to the front of the queue.

As reported by the Mirror, France World Cup star Benjamin Pavard is a transfer target for Serie A side Napoli, who are ready to swoop for the youngster following a fine showing in Russia.

It has been reported recently by Corriere dello Sport that Tottenham Hotspur had tabled an official bid for Pavard, and Spurs definitely have need to sign the Stuttgart defender.

If Tottenham’s interest in the player is real, they should make sure their rivals do not beat them to his signing because he could be the perfect fit.

The fact that Pavard has shown he can play right-back too has to be encouraging, with Serge Aurier having shown last season that he can be extremely rash at times. Pavard would be great back up for Kieran Trippier, who will be a nailed on starter for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino after his own showing in Russia.

Pochettino is known for his ability to develop younger players, as evidenced by the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Davinson Sanchez, so Pavard and Tottenham could be a match made in heaven.
