With Paul Lambert looking set to take over at Molineux, it’s time to take a look at why he truly is the best man for the job.

Straight off the bat people are going to point towards his failures at Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers. What they need to realise is that he was set up for disaster at both clubs given the way they were ran by both Randy Lerner and Venky’s.
Sure some of his decision making didn’t help, but the pressure he was under was astronomical and not being given a helping hand by the men above can be extremely detrimental.

Whilst nobody is 100% certain of Fosun’s capabilities when it comes to owning a football team, the finances and ambition they possess will certainly appeal to Lambert. The Scot has proven in the past that he can build something great from the ground up, with his time at Norwich City being lauded by many Canaries fans as their favourite period supporting the club.
The 47-year-old has displayed the skills necessary to do a solid job, and nobody could have possibly come out of the Blackburn and Villa jobs with credibility. The fact that he managed to avoid relegation with both speaks volumes, despite his perceived shortcomings.
This could be just the push that both Lambert and Wolves need.
