Crystal Palace once again find themselves struggling in the Premier League, and if they go down don’t expect Alan Pardew to clean up the mess.
Many people have criticised Alan Pardew over the last few years. One way or another he always seems to rub people the wrong way, and his position as a top football manager is tenuous at best. For every good day at Crystal Palace there have been three or four bad ones under the Englishman, and that trend looks set to continue.
But if push comes to shove, do not expect him to be around when the penny finally drops. If you look at Pardew’s career trajectory, the guy likes to get out when things start to heat up. At Charlton, Southampton and arguably Newcastle he left under very suspect conditions. It is no coincidence that all three had wanted him out for some time, and the now 55-year-old tends to give up more often than fighting back.

There are so many clubs right now that would probably take Pardew on in a heartbeat, despite how much of a mistake that would likely be. He has the ability to cause an early upturn of results, but maintaining that success has always been his problem and is something that will follow him throughout his managerial career.
If the results start suffering do not be surprised to see Pardew exit Selhurst Park a few months before the drop down to the second tier takes place. Even now you could argue his sacking would be warranted, and one way or another he will not make it to the end of the season.
