Forest were woeful in front of goal last season, and managed just 43 goals in 46 Championship outings. Even with the signing of Vellios, they are in desperate need of more fire-power in forward positions, and an ideal addition would be former Arsenal and Crystal Palace striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Moroccan is available on a free transfer following his release from Selhurst Park, and the 32-year-old has the necessary attributes required to be a hit in England’s second tier, with his aerial ability matched by few. He has vast experience of playing at the highest level, and works tirelessly for the team.
Chamakh played at the highest level with Arsenal
His career record of 71 goals in 333 league appearances doesn’t do Chamakh’s overall game justice, and true evidence of his quality is the 65 caps he has received for his country.
The former Palace striker has a fantastic knack of bringing others into play, and should a move come to fruition, his inclusion in the Forest side would most certainly increase production levels from a goalscoring and assist perspective.
At the age of 32, the Moroccan will be looking to see out his career at a club who can offer the promise of regular first-team football, and Forest could be the club who could do exactly that.
