After their recent run of form, Nottingham Forest represent just how miraculous the Championship can be.
Following their 2-0 loss at the hands of Reading a few weeks back, Nottingham Forest looked down and out. They seemed destined for yet another season of mid-table mediocrity, with many of their fans already looking ahead to next year. However, a sudden burst of form has proven once again just what momentum can do in the Championship.
Three consecutive victories over Ipswich, Barnsley and Newcastle have opened the door for a renewed sense of faith among Forest supporters. Given how tight the division is, just one win can turn the tides back in a team’s favour and that really is the most remarkable compliment the Championship can receive.
Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier
With the big game coming up this weekend against Derby County, it could not have happened at a better time. Forest seem to be clicking at just the right time as we enter a busy Christmas period of football, and who knows what a win over their bitter rivals could do for their confidence.
The hard clashes do not stop with Preston, Wolves, Huddersfield and Newcastle again on the horizon, but as we all know by now the Championship giveth and it taketh away.
