Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has responded when asked about Leeds potentially signing Tyler Adams this summer.
The American midfielder knows Jesse Marsch well from their time together at New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig, and Romano has suggested that the Leeds boss could make another move for the midfielder.
Indeed, the journalist says that the pair have a great relationship, but he says that Leeds will need to make a decision on Kalvin Phillips’ future before making any sort of move for Adams.
What’s been said?
Romano spoke about Adams and Leeds.
“Let’s stick with Americans here, Tyler Adams, is there a chance he could be on his way to Leeds United?” Romano was asked.
“Why not? His relationship with Marsch is great. There are no negotiations between the two clubs at the moment, but we know that the relationship is great and that it could be a really interesting opportunity. Leeds need to understand what they want to do with Phillips because he’s on the list of many top clubs, so let’s see what happens with Phillips and then we will understand if they jump into this Tyler Adams opportunity or not,” Romano said.

American revolution
It looks as though Jesse Marsch could be getting some American compatriots at Elland Road in the coming months.
Brendan Aaronson is set to arrive from Salzburg this summer, and Romano seems to suggest that a move for Adams could also be on the cards.
Add in Jack Harrison’s American roots and you can see that Leeds will have a big US-core within their squad.
Not only will this improve Leeds on the pitch, but it could also work wonders for the Leeds United brand over in the States, opening up a number of new marketing opportunities in the USA.
