Manchester City’s Yaya Toure becomes a free agent this summer.

Manchester City’s Yaya Toure played his final home game for the club on Wednesday night – and the race will now be on for his signature.
City beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday in their penultimate game of the season, and as Pep Guardiola’s men are away at Southampton on the final day of the season, City fans were given a farewell to Yaya Toure.
The Ivorian midfielder, now 34, has racked up more than 300 appearances for the club following a 2010 move from Barcelona, becoming one of the club’s most recognisable stars in recent history.

Toure starred as a goalscoring midfielder for City, with his 24-goal campaign in the 2013-14 season particularly impressive, whilst his list of trophies is also worth of praise.
During his time with City, Toure won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup – in which he scored the winning goal in the final against Stoke City – and two League Cups.
Now, Toure will become a free agent this summer, and whilst a host of clubs will be interested in his signature, it remains to be seen where Toure takes his talents next.

In fact, brother Kolo Toure – a ‘technical assistant’ at Celtic – has told Sky Sports that he still think the midfielder can play at the top level, and joked about him joining him in Glasgow.
“He’s got the talent, he’s got the desire and I think he still has the energy,” said Toure. “It’s up to him, to be honest, but I think he can still play at the top level for sure.”
“Why not?!” he joked when asked about a possible Celtic reunion.
