Norwich City can’t complain with the start they have had so far this season, the Canaries currently sit second in the Championship and go into this weekends game against Burton off the back of an EFL cup victory to Everton.

The Canaries went into the mid-week game as underdogs, but goals from Steven Naismith and Josh Murphy was enough to send Norwich through to the fourth round.

One of the players who stood out against Everton was the Canaries’ highly-rated midfielder Alex Prichard, and against Premier League opposition no less. The England under-21 international played a key role in Naismith’s opener, with the attacking midfielder also cleared Enner Valencia’s shot off the line preventing the Blues from scoring.

Prichard signed for Norwich from Tottenham in the summer for £8 million [fee reported by Sky Sports], since then he has only made three substitute appearances after suffering a muscle injury on the opening weekend.

Despite this, Pritchard has shown early signs that he is a player to look out for. The midfielder still has more to give; the 23-year-old is a young talent who could play a fundamental part in Norwich’s quest for promotion back to the top flight.

Pritchard may not start against Burton on Saturday, with manager Alex Neil possibly favouring Graham Dorrans over the 23-year-old. But it wouldn’t be a surprise anyone if the youngster ended up as a key player for Norwich, and one teams around the Canaries should be wary of.
