Newcastle United have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle.

If Newcastle United have been offered the chance to to sign Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle, as has been reported by the Chronicle, they should jump at the opportunity.
Newcastle already have a collection of strikers who would be the envy of most Championship clubs, but Gayle could be the guarantee of goals that they need.
Gayle has finished up as Palace’s top scorer for the last three seasons, but Alan Pardew appears to have reservations over using him as a lone striker.

The 25-year-old unquestionably works better with a partner, but with Newcastle likely to be one of the most attacking teams in the Championship next season, he should have no shortage of support.
Pardew has already described Gayle as the best finisher in Palace’s squad, and that is exactly what Newcastle need.
The Magpies have not had a prolific scorer since the likes of Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba were hitting the back of the net on a regular basis.

There is no questioning Ayoze Perez’s and Aleksandar Mitrovic’s ability, but they do not have the same dead-eye composure in front of goal that Gayle does.
Gayle has netted 26 goals for Palace, despite only making 34 starts for them, and if a striker with that sort of record is on offer Newcastle should ensure that they do not miss out.
