Celtic have been linked with a move for the young midfielder.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Celtic are one of the clubs interested in signing Mark Sykes from Glenavon, and the 20-year-old would be wise opting for the Bhoys ahead of other alleged suitors Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has a rich history of giving young players a chance and Sykes needs to move to a side where he can continue his development while also knowing that first-team football is a distinct possibility if he proves his worth.

While they are of a significantly higher standard, the likes of Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts have proved their worth under Rodgers, and Celtic should be the go-to club for players willing to kick on and experience senior football from a young age.
Celtic will know they are at risk of losing some of their top players next summer and that could see opportunities arise for others looking to follow a similar path.
Sykes is highly-rated at Glenavon but a move to the Scottish Premiership would be a considerable step up.

That said, the prospect of developing there rather than slipping into the ether at a side like Leicester is well worth considering.
If players like Ahmed Musa cannot get a look-in at the King Power Stadium right now, what chance a young midfielder looking to make the step up?
Celtic is the sensible choice, provided they follow up their earlier interest with a fresh bid when the time comes.
