Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead wants Pat McAfee to keep the Aaron Donald comeback conversation alive after the Myles Garrett trade changed the mood around the franchise.
Donald’s retirement has never erased his pull inside the Rams building. Once Los Angeles added Garrett, the idea of pairing him with Donald became the kind of wild possibility fans could not ignore.
Snead did not say Donald is coming back, and the Rams still have a long way to go before any reunion becomes real. His answer showed that Los Angeles is not exactly rushing to shut down the thought.

Les Snead wants Pat McAfee to text Aaron Donald about Los Angeles Rams return
Pat McAfee Show featured Les Snead leaning into Pat McAfee’s contact with Aaron Donald, with the Rams GM joking that this is the perfect time for those messages to become more regular.
“Continue texting Aaron Donald. Keep, you know, I know you said you don’t text with him often, but this is probably the time to build that daily text chain. We’re Rams fans,” Snead said.
Snead’s humor carried a clear football reason behind it. Donald reportedly told McAfee that the Garrett move had him thinking, which was always going to fuel hope among Rams fans who remember how much he changed their defense.
Los Angeles traded for Garrett to chase another title window, not to create nostalgia. Still, adding an elite pass rusher naturally makes the Donald question more tempting than it would have sounded a week ago.
Les Snead says Sean McVay keeps Aaron Donald close to Los Angeles Rams
Snead also made clear that McAfee is not the only person connected to Donald. The Rams still have their own line through Sean McVay, whose relationship with Donald remains important to the speculation.
“But I can say I haven’t [talked to Donald]. Sean [McVay] has had conversations with Aaron. He still communicates with Aaron a good bit,” Snead added.
Those conversations do not guarantee a comeback, but they explain why the idea has not disappeared. McVay can speak to the emotional pull of a return and the football reality of what it would require.
A defense with Garrett and Donald would immediately become one of the NFL’s most fascinating possibilities. Donald would still need to want the grind of another season, not just the excitement of imagining one more run.
Snead’s message to McAfee was simple enough. If daily texts keep Donald thinking, the Rams would gladly let someone else help keep the door open.
