Leeds’ Charlie Taylor (L): Not wanted by only a handful of top-flight clubs
If you don’t want Charlie Taylor then are you actually a Premier League club? It’s certainly easier to name those who haven’t yet been linked with the young Leeds United defender, rather than the other way around.
The Whites will be loathe to lose their prized asset, especially after their other one was sold to Bournemouth with precious little prior warning.
However, not a single United supporter would be surprised to see him follow Lewis Cook out of Elland Road this summer, regardless of Massimo Cellino’s comments stressing otherwise (Mirror).

There is though, a way of losing Taylor which would benefit all parties – a transfer to Liverpool (as speculated by Teamtalk in June).
Moving to Anfield would represent an appropriate ascent, based on his potential as one of the English game’s brightest prospects. And who better to coax that out than Jurgen Klopp – the man who made Mats Hummels, Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan the players they are today?

In signing Taylor, the Reds would be getting, first and foremost, a development player with enough experience to make an immediate challenge for Alberto Moreno’s place (more so than Leicester’s Ben Chilwell, for example), but one who is also young enough to bide his time in such a pursuit.
And Leeds? Well they could simply ask for Brad Smith in return. The Australia international has impressed in his handful of Reds run-outs but is said to have been considered for loan (Echo).

However, with Taylor in his path, is there any point? Let’s swap them over permanently, give Leeds the difference and hold tight for the next Cellino bombshell.
