Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic has admitted to ruhrnachrichten.de that he will seek talks about his future this summer.
The centre-back has endured a highly frustrating year, making just 11 appearances in all competitions.
An arm injury ruling him out towards the end of the season played it’s part, but he struggled to break into Thomas Tuchel’s side when fit also.
That was a tough situation for him to take given he was a regular in the side’s that starred under former boss Jurgen Klopp.
Should it be decided that he will leave the club, then Liverpool should push hard to make him sign on at Anfield.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
The Reds defence came in for criticism again this past season and it is clearly an area that Klopp is looking to improve.
He has already signed Joel Matip, and Subotic would represent a serious upgrade on the German’s other option in the position.
At just 27-years-old, he is arguably in the prime of his career and would command an instant starting role in the Liverpool defence.
He would also bring a level of experience that is currently lacking in the side, having played regularly for Dortmund in the Champions League, as well as earning 36 caps for the German national side.

There is every chance he wood be tempted by a move too, having enjoyed his best years under Klopp and surely keen to revive that partnership after a disappointing year.
The chance to play in the Premier League, and be a part of what looks to be a bright future for Liverpool under Klopp, would also likely be tempting.
Of course, it would take serious negotiating to tempt Dortmund into a sale, but if Liverpool wish to seriously improve the defence this summer then Subotic is the man they should be targeting.
