Liverpool continue to improve and evolve under Jürgen Klopp.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp
Liverpool have begun their campaign in impressive style this term, with convincing away victories at Arsenal and Chelsea, along with a hard fought draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
Jürgen Klopp’s philosophies and ideas are beginning to bear fruit now, with his high intensity pressing game being implemented on a more regular basis, as the Liverpool players continue to evolve and adapt to meet the German’s tactical requirements.
Whilst Klopp has stated that he is happy with the options he has available to him after a busy summer on Merseyside, there is still room for improvement.
One position they definitely are in need of strengthening is the central midfield box-to-box type role. Although the Reds have a plethora of talented footballers in the middle of the park, they lack someone of a physically imposing stature who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
Watford’s Etienne Capoue
Watford’s Etienne Capoue has been magnificent for the Hornets this term, and would make an ideal acquisition for Liverpool.
The former Spurs star failed to establish himself at White Hart Lane through a mixture of injuries, and not being given the opportunity to prove himself on a regular enough basis.
He moved to Vicarage Road last summer, and has since go on to become an integral part of the Watford side.
The 28-year-old has scored four goals in five league appearances this term, and he is finally showing what he is truly capable of.
Watford’s Etienne Capoue
He has an incredible work ethic, and is just as important to his team in the defensive third as he is in attacking areas.
Standing at 6 ft 2 in, Capoue would provide an added aerial threat for Klopp’s side, and his tenacious attitude and bite in the challenge would give the Reds that added nasty side that all top sides have.
Liverpool should seriously consider making an offer for the Frenchman in January, and if a move ever are to fruition, they would truly have the perfectly balanced midfield.
