Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto is said to be on Liverpool’s radar and this week could be crucial in deciding his future.
It is highly likely that Liverpool will add a goalkeeper to their ranks in January and Fiorentina’s Neto could be the man they move for.
A number of ‘keepers have been suggested as alternatives to the struggling Simon Mignolet, including Hugo Lloris, Guillermo Ochoa and Petr Cech.
But one of the more viable options seems to be Neto, who is impressing in Serie A for Fiorentina.
The Brazilian shot-stopper is embroiled in prolonged contract negotiations with his current employers because his deal expires in June.
And rumours of interest from Liverpool may have turned Neto’s head, meaning that he could force through a sale in January.
If not, Neto would be able to start talking to overseas suitors, such as Liverpool, who would be able to offer a significant pay rise and the chance to play in the Premier League.
