Leeds United and Cambridge United will go head-to-head next month.

Leeds United will play Cambridge United in the third round of the FA Cup, and one player in particular will be keen to make his mark against the League One club.

Kemar Roofe seemingly scored for fun last season, ending his final campaign for Oxford United with 25 goals in 49 appearances and attracting the interest of Leeds in the process.

A big money move followed, but Roofe may see the upcoming clash with Cambridge as a case of unfinished business.

After all, Roofe failed to score or assist in either clash with Cambridge last season – those encounters two of the few disappointments he endured all season.

Roofe did score against them the previous year, in a 2-0 victory when both sides were in League Two, yet he would have been forgiven for thinking back to last season when the draw was made.

Roofe arrived at Elland Road with a big reputation but it is only recently that he has showed what he can do.

He scored in a 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers and is now excelling in the number 10 role, finding the net in a 2-0 win against Aston Villa last time out and looking every inch a star in the making.

For now Leeds will be fully focused on their promotion push. However, come January their exciting young striker will be hoping to do what he did not manage last season and score against Cambridge.
