Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers played well during his loan spell at Swansea City last season, and Leeds United should sign him on loan.

Cameron Carter-Vickers did well during his loan spell at Swansea City last season, and given Leeds United’s need for a central defender, head coach Marcelo Bielsa should make a move for the Tottenham Hotspur defender.
Carter-Vickers is a very promising and talented young defender who will be a smart addition to the Leeds squad on a loan deal for the 2019-20 campaign.
True, Leeds have a good defensive unit, with Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper at the heart of the Whites’ backline, but adding the 21-year-old will add depth to their squad.
Kalvin Phillips was deployed as a centre-back on many occasions last season due to injury issues, and while the 23-year-old did well in that role, the Englishman would have been better deployed in the central midfield role.

Carter-Vickers made 23 starts and seven starts in the Championship for Swansea last season, according to WhoScored, and the Tottenham-owned defender – who earns £20,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – progressed well and developed nicely last season at the Liberty Stadium.
It is hard to see the 21-year-old establish himself in the Tottenham first team next season, and given Bielsa’s good relationship with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, Leeds should at least try to bring the USA international to Elland Road on a loan deal in the summer transfer window.
