Izzy Brown joined Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United on loan from Chelsea in the summer of 2018.

Izzy Brown is struggling to get into the Leeds United team at the moment, despite being fully fit and available for selection.
The 22-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder, forward or winger, has been playing quite well for the Leeds Under-23 side, but first-team head coach Marcelo Bielsa does not seem to think that he is good enough – or maybe fit enough? – for matchday squads.
Signed on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea in the summer of 2018, the former England Under-20 international has been able to play just nine minutes in the Championship so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.
With Leeds facing serious threat from Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United for automatic promotion to the Premier League, Elland Road faithful must be wondering just why Bielsa is making use of Brown.

Could it be that Bielsa wants to save Brown for the Championship playoffs? Could it be that the Leeds head coach wants to keep the former West Bromwich Albion prospect injury-free and fresh should the Whites fail to end up in the top two?
After all, even without Brown, the Whites are a point clear of the Blades in second place, and automatic promotion is in their hands now.
Brown has yet to develop an on-field understanding with the Leeds first team, and maybe Bielsa does not want to take any risk and use the youngster only if he absolutely needs to… like in the playoffs when opposition teams will not have faced him before this season and will not know what to expect from him.
