Joe Rogan is still pushing for this matchup.
The UFC’s scheduled event at the White House in 2026 keeps coming up in conversations heading into the new year, especially following President Donald Trump’s recent comments.
Trump has predicted there will be eight or nine title fights on the card, following claims by UFC CEO Dana White that the event will be his promotion’s most “spectacular” to date.
No fights have been confirmed yet, but there is no shortage of eager candidates. Plenty of big names are campaigning for a spot, including Conor McGregor and Jon Jones.
And Rogan thinks it would be a huge mistake by White to exclude one of those names…
Joe Rogan urges Dana White to add Jon Jones to White House event

Dana White has repeatedly dismissed Jones’ attempts to secure a fight at the UFC’s White House event, claiming the former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion can’t be relied upon.
Rogan originally agreed with that assessment, but he has since changed his mind, now pushing for Jones to face Alex Pereira in Washington D.C. He shared that view again during the latest episode of his JRE MMA Show, where middleweight contender Brendan Allen was his guest.
This isn’t the first time Rogan has spoken up for Jones in this context. Speaking with Alex Pereira earlier this year on episode #214 of the JRE MMA Show, Rogan said: “I would love it if it was you and Jon [at the White House]. I would love it if they did that. That would be f—- amazing.”
Joe Rogan misses out on Golden Globe nomination
Outside of his work as a UFC commentator, Rogan has kept busy with his hugely popular podcast.
The Joe Rogan Experience remained the most-listened-to show across Apple, Spotify, and YouTube in 2025. But despite topping all three platforms, the podcast didn’t make it onto the six-podcast list of Golden Globe nominees, sparking mixed reactions online.
Sweeney wasn’t alone in missing out. Sydney Sweeney was also left out for her role in the Christy Martin biopic, though there was some recognition for combat sports elsewhere.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson earned a nomination for best male actor in a drama for his role as Mark Kerr in The Smashing Machine, receiving plenty of praise for his performance.
